Medium voltage consoles

Technical recommendation TP-6 "Poles for medium voltage overhead power lines" the use of a galvanized steel console is standard equipment element of overhead medium voltage lines.
Aluminum or steel – hot-dip galvanized consoles and supports are used in medium voltage networks for holding of the suspension and other equipment. They are intended for installation on various types of surfaces: reinforced concrete poles, wooden poles, iron lattice poles, walls etc.The consoles intended for holding of a medium voltage network conductor are made for a flat or triangular arrangement of conductors. They are adjusted to the installation of standard support of porcelain insulators and to the screws of silicone post insulators. Tension, branch, non-reinforced and angle consoles are intended for the installation of tension strings by standard tension fixtures – hinges or shackle. Supports of the distribution transformers up to 400 kVA, surge arresters, distribution cabinets, cable heads etc. are compatible and enable making of a complete substation on a reinforced concrete pole.
Installation of consoles on medium voltage network poles is performed by usual tools – OK 19, 24 and 27 keys. All steel positions of the console are hot-dip galvanized. In addition to the consoles mentioned in the examples, we can also make and deliver other types of supports for the installations of medium and low voltage networks, pole substations etc. All consoles and supports are delivered with complete equipment (screws, clips, nuts, washers…) required for pole mounting.

  • Nominal force on pillars for which consoles 315, 650, 1000, 1600 and 2100 daN are applied.
  • Consoles type is determined by the pillars head -peak horizontal console for "gamma" G head pillars
  • Console purpose determined by pillar function in route: nasal N, Angle-tensile KZ, Angle K, tap-off console O, terminal KR
  • Supporting insulators with full core: Rod insulator

GUIDE FOR CONSOLES INSTALATIONS

Mounting console on the pillars of network elements is performed by standard tools - wrenches OK 19, 24 and 27. All the steel console positions are hot dip galvanized. In addition to the console listed in the examples we are able to develop and deliver other types of supports for equipment of medium and low voltage networks, pole-mounted transformer substations and the like. All consoles are supplied with all the equipment (screws, clamps, nuts, washers ...) that is required to be mounted on a pole.

In practice there are two types of installation:
  1. mounting on the graund
  2. mounting on already built pillar namly. replacement of old consoles or installation of additional consoles
In both cases, the installation should be made according to the installation instructions.

Mounting on the graund

Installation takes place as in workshop drawings as follows:
  1. To prepare the steel structure according to the installation plan
  2. Regulate the size of the opening in the console so that it is approximately equal to the diameter of the top of the stairs,
  3. Execute the mounting consoles to the top pillars, in accordance with the project lines,
  4. Raising pillars with the console in the projected position by special vehicles
  5. Lowering the consoles to the projected height,
  6. Geodesic check of the console position, which must be perpendicular to the route of the line in the bisecting the angle or if the console is on the pillars in turn,
  7. After geodesic control of console position in altitude and horizontal view it is necessary to tighten the screws on the force defined by static calculation for certain types of console as follows:
    • Console for pole diameters of the top 120-150 mm - P = 10.75 kN
    • Console for pole diameters of the top 170-210 mm - P = 16.25 kN
    • Console for pole diameters of the top 200-240 mm - P = 16.25 kN
    • Console for pole diameters of the top 240-270 mm – P = 16,25 kN
  8. After tightening the screws consoles are ready for installation of other equipment provided for the transmission project.

Mounting on already built-pillar

Installation takes place to a workshop design as follows:
  1. To prepare the steel structure according to the installation plan
  2. Regulate the size of the hole on the console so that it is approximately equal to the diameter of the top of the pilar, or in the case of mounting tap-off console, dismantle the structure into two parts.
  3. Perform the mounting of console to the top of the pilar and under the existing console, in the case of mounting tap-off console, use sheave or vehicles with basket, in accordance with the project lines.
  4. Lowering the console to the projected height,
  5. Geodesic chack position of the console, which must be perpendicular to the line section or the centerline of the angle if the console is on the pillars in turn,
  6. After geodesic control of console position in altitude and horizontal view it is necessary to tighten the screws on the force defined by static calculation for certain types of consoles, as stated above
  7. After tightening the screws consoles are ready for installation of other equipment provided for the transmission project.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SELECTION AND CONSOLE APPLICATIONS

The purpose of the console is determined by the function of the corresponding pillar in the route and can be nasal, angle, angle-tension, tap-off and terminal. As tap-off and terminal console it is used one of the angle-tension, depending on the diameter of the pillar, which is installedThe function of a certain type pillar in route depend direction and position of the force on the console.Consoles are dimensioned for loads with the default conditions of application given in the table.
